How it all began In its long and eventful history time and again FRAKO has reacted promptly and flexibly to new demands from the market. The aim to fulfil the requirements and wishes of our customers has always stood in the foreground. This applies to everybody from Management, Departmental Heads and Supervisors to the work force in the factory, the centre of all business. Since the separation from ASCOM in 1994 and the resulting new foundation of the FRAKO Kondensatoren- und Anlagenbau GmbH our company can again concentrate completely on what was always its greatest strength: - high-performance power factor correction capacitors - power factor correction systems - energy management systems Our future is in the area of complete energy management systems with power factor control, maximum demand control, mains monitoring and energy metering to optimize the energy supply and to reduce energy costs.

How it all began...

During the infancy of radio and telecommunications more and more capacitors were required and in 1928 FRAKO, as "Frankfurter Kondensatoren Fabrik", began to conquer the new market. Up to this day FRAKO has remained leader in this central domain: as market leader in the production and development of high quality performance capacitors.

From the very beginning the raw materials and production methods for the capacitors have been consistently improved, know-how for development has poured in from numerous sources, so that our high quality has found the highest level of acclaim among customers and experts. FRAKO has achieved an increasingly leading position in the market.

Over several decades an immense amount of experience and development has flowed into our capacitors. The complex interplay of physical, chemical and electrical factors in a capacitor is a science of its own. It is this knowledge that forms the "alchemy" of a good capacitor.

Even today there are challenges for the construction of capacitors. The load on the materials in a capacitor is enormous. Synthetic materials as thin as normal writing paper are in constant use for 10 to 20 years and withstand peak voltages of over 600 volts. Current flows in metal layers that have an approximate thickness of 10 nm. In order to protect the environment FRAKO has brought a revolutionary innovation onto the market, namely the dry type High Performance Power Factor Correction Capacitor. The FRAKO dry type High Performance Power Factor Correction Capacitor is a successful combination of environmental protection and technical progress.
