Everything began with the winding of paper capacitors for radios and for the Reichspost. Due to the growing number of radios produced the need for such capacitors increased rapidly.
Formation in Frankfurt as „Frankfurter Kondensatoren GmbH“.
the production of electrolytic capacitors which were required mainly for rectifiers began. Soon FRAKO decided to begin their own production of rectifiers and battery chargers.
marked the birth of the power capacitor production. Lighting capacitors and power factor correction capacitors were produced.
with the introduction of the new automatically controlled power factor correction systems saw a considerable expansion of the production plant. These well-known "components" soon became standard in industrial electrical equipment.
power factor control relays were developed and produced. The electronic FRAKO power factor control relay took the place of the mechanical control relays of the time. Now both central components came from one and the same source. This is still our strict principle: The entire responsibility for an installation and optimal adaptation to the individual conditions of our customers.
FRAKO supplied parallel lighting capacitors in dry metallized polypropylene film construction.
power factor correction capacitors were adapted to metallized polypropylene film.
FRAKO introduced a microprocessor-controlled control relay on to the market, with a patented regulation method according to the "bent" characteristic which has yet to be improved upon. It solves two contradictory demands: to adhere to a "target power factor" at high load while avoiding "over-compensating" at low load.
FRAKO manufactured power capacitors type "LKI" starting with 5 kvar in an aluminium casing 60 Ø x 225 mm; today almost twice the reactive power can be produced in a casing with the same size.
FRAKO took over the product program "maximum demand control".
the EMR 1100, the "power factor control relay of the 90´s", came on the market. A control relay that "commissions itself" and monitors the capacitor bank and the mains for defects and overloads.
FRAKO introduced the first integrated energy management system. Power factor correction, net quality, maximum demand control and energy costs were centrally collected and displayed with a visualisation program.
FRAKO became a subsidiary company of the Berliner Elektro Holding AG. FRAKO is certified according to ISO 9001.
the power current section of FRAKO starts their own business: the company „FRAKO Kondensatoren- und Anlagenbau GmbH“ was founded.
FRAKO delivers power factor correction capacitors and energy management systems in over 50 countries. FRAKO is worldwide a synonym for quality, safety and highest life expectancy.
first applications with Active Filter for electronical compensation of harmonic levels.
FRAKO put the LKT on the market: a "dry" High Performance Capacitor for highest reliability. This new LKT replaces the former, fluid impregnated LKI.
the Baugatz/Hoppe Company is merging with FRAKO Kondensatoren- und Anlagenbau GmbH. Together with the recently acquired AGLK Division of Moeller Engineering GmbH FRAKO is extending its market leader position even further in the field of Power Quality to optimize power supply and to improve the quality of electricity.
FRAKO C-Module: the universal solution for almost all switchgear systems. The compact C-Module replaces a lot of different module types.
launch of the modular EM-System EMIS ® with Ethernet connection and interface for devices.
Frako-Kondensatoren- und Anlagenbau GmbH has set the course for further growth by opening a new production hall for the capacitor manufacturing. The sales organization has been reformed and the sales areas in Germany have been restructured.
